Age Is No Barrier
Author: Josh Balbin
We've all heard the myths about ageing. That "you can't teach an old dog new tricks." That as we grow older, it's inevitable that our bodies will stiffen, hurt, and fail us. But working in clinical practice, I see proof every day that this simply isn't true.
Neuroplasticity at Any Age
The human brain retains its neuroplasticity-its ability to change, learn, and adapt-throughout our entire lifespan. While we may lose some muscle mass or bone density as we age, our ability to improve our coordination, balance, and movement efficiency never goes away.
Whether through Remedial Massage, Feldenkrais, or tailored exercise, you can always improve how your body feels and functions. I have seen clients in their 80s regain the ability to get down on the floor and play with their grandchildren. Age is not a barrier to improvement; the only barrier is the belief that change is no longer possible.
